Meet Andrea, a Registered Provisional Psychologist, registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Her academic journey started with a passion to better understand the conditions in which humans can thrive, leading her to earn an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, before completing a Master of Science degree in Counselling Psychology, both at the University of Calgary. Andrea's academic expertise spans across various domains of psychology, with research experience in educational psychology, as well as in anatomical and behavioural neuroscience.


In the counselling space, she employs a holistic approach to therapy, drawing from methodologies like ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy techniques. Her client-centered and collaborative style ensures that each individual's unique journey is valued and prioritized. Always on the path of growth and learning, Andrea is currently in the process of becoming EMDR certified, further expanding her counselling toolbox. She's also a certified practitioner of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and holds a certification in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).


Andrea specializes in providing compassionate support and guidance to individuals and families facing a variety of challenges. She has a strong background addressing challenges related to Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Learning Disabilities, and employing tailored strategies to assist individuals in increasing their interpersonal communication, self-regulation and coping skills, and improving their self-concept and self-esteem, to help them realize their goals. Her experience also extends to providing support to adults, helping parents navigate the complexities of raising children and adolescents, as well as other aspects of adulthood (e.g., career and life transitions, stress, interpersonal relationships). Furthermore, Andrea is well-versed in addressing anxiety and worry, offering evidence-based approaches to manage and overcome these common experiences. Her client-centered approach ensures that each person, regardless of their unique challenges, receives the understanding and care they deserve on their journey to improved mental well-being.


With a diverse background in working within schools and with individuals across the age spectrum, from children and teenagers to adults, Andrea is well-equipped to understand and address a wide range of challenges that people face. Her warm and empathetic approach creates a safe space for personal growth and healing, regardless of age or background.
