I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Trinity Western University. I am a Registered Psychologist, a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists #4222, a member of the Psychologists Association of British Columbia #2358, the Psychologists Association of Alberta # 9215, and a Certified EMDR Therapist and Lens Neurofeedback provider. My primary work is in the treatment of trauma and stress related disorders. I work with individuals and couples.
Regardless of your circumstances, whether you are having problems in your relationships, having difficulties facing the world because of trauma, or are experiencing low mood, stress and anxiety, my hope is that you may come to find your way through it. Choosing to go to therapy requires courage, trust, and a strong commitment. With that in mind, I believe in taking an empathic, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach to create a safe and caring environment. My hope for you is that by exploring your story you may come to recognize patterns of thought, emotion, perceptions, and response. That you would also achieve effective tools to manage your symptoms, overcome challenges, and make meaning of your circumstances as you heal and move forward.
To aid my work, I use the felt connection between the body, mind, emotions, and spirit. I integrate perspectives from emotionally focused therapy, polyvagal theory, trauma theory, structural dissociation theory, emerging research in interpersonal neurobiology and neuroscience, and process-oriented body therapies, with particular emphasis on attachment and relational healing. Each of these perspectives highlight the important implications for the human capacity to heal. It is my desire to help support and guide my clients towards more integration and wholeness. That their events be sufficiently processed allowing them to be informed by their memories rather than controlled by them so they can experience effective, positive, and lasting changes in their lives.
My hope is that as we work together, we can tailor a therapeutic approach to meet your individual needs. I look forward to starting the process of healing with you.
